I finally managed to get a load of leaves from my city. 50 garbage bags full of heavy, wet (sometimes smelly) leaves – with a few other odds and ends thrown in. I’ll be paying for it though – I have a feeling I’m going to be pretty sore in the morning!
I debated at first just where to put them, as I knew it wouldn’t be enough for everything. Decided to put them between and in front of the cane berries. I’ve wanted to get rid of the grass around them for a long time. I’m looking forward to my first spring of not needing to weed the berries.
Turned out there was enough left to put some around the blueberries and some in a few garden beds. Of course the chickens discovered the bounty about 30 seconds after I emptied the last bag, now they’re enjoying it as well.
